Full Membership: is divided into two categories:
1. Professional membership granted upon application by any scientist engaged in activities in any aspects of Food Science and Nutrition or related discipline and who has at least one publication in peer-refereed journal.

2. Ordinary membership granted upon application by any scientist engaged in any activity related to Food Science and Nutrition.

Associate Membership: granted upon application by any African national actively working in the field of Food Science and Nutrition outside Africa or a non-African national actively working in these fields in Africa.

Student membership: granted upon application by any student undertaking post-secondary school course in Food Science or closely related discipline.

Honorary Membership: May be granted to an individual with outstanding contribution to the development of Food Science, upon proposal by any full member and approved at the AGM.

Institutional Membership: granted upon application by research institutes, training institution or statutory bodies.

Corporate Membership: granted upon application by food industries, food service industries, UN agencies and NGOs among others.

ORGANIZATION
FOSNNA operates from Regional and National Coordinating Offices. The Regional Coordinating Office rotates every four years among the member countries and is manned by the Executive Secretariat. FOSNNA supreme governing organ is the Coordinating Board which is composed of three elected National Network Coordinators from any member country, Executive Secretary, Assistant Executive Secretary and one representative each from a training institution or a research institute and food industry from the coordinating country.
